Greg Knight is a qualified Solicitor of the Supreme Court but gave up practising law when he became a Member of Parliament. He was first elected Conservative MP for East Yorkshire in 2001 and has represented the seat ever since.

Coming from a military family, and since childhood having a great passion for history, the governance of our country and society has always been something which interests me.
With a background in the manufacture and distribution of consumer products I moved to Driffield for business reasons in 1997 with my wife, Maura. We immediately fell in love with the town and surrounding East Riding countryside and knew we had made the best choice for our new home.
Having been born to a military family I lived overseas on and off from the age of three. With a hobby in aero-modelling, developed at boarding school, a career in the RAF was always an option but I spent some years both in the Royal Engineers, and in light engineering in the private sector.
It is an honour to be an Officer of the EYCCA, 3 times as DC for Memberships and the Branch Support Officer. These two posts are linked and as a Membership Officer, I was proud to receive a National Award from Central Office for increase in memberships over the then past 10 years.
Charlie is the Deputy Chairman responsible for organising events and fundraising across the East Yorkshire constituency. He lives near Driffield with his wife and two children and is a senior policy adviser to the National Pig Association.
